Yonyou Network’s Executive Vice President and CTO, Fan Guanjun, believes that Chinese enterprises should first prioritize the establishment of a data intelligence foundation. According to Yonyou’s understanding, the core component of this data intelligence foundation is the data middle platform. “The data middle platform involves the processing, development, analysis, and presentation of enterprise data, including features like data prediction and decision-making,” says Fan Guanjun.
Fan Guanjun emphasizes that data is not just about presentation but, more importantly, it’s about combining “data + algorithms” to provide decision-making capabilities for enterprises. As an example, he highlights how Yonyou’s data platform assists companies like Goldkinn Foods: “The leadership of Goldkinn Foods can use the Yonyou platform to predict, based on today’s operations and customer forecasts, how much material to process and purchase for the next day. This truly enables decision-level services for the enterprise.”
In Fan Guanjun’s view, the most significant difference between Yonyou’s data platform and other data platforms is the accumulation of over 600 pre-built thematic models and analytical indicators in the field of enterprise services over many years. This capability enables enterprises to truly achieve a “ready-to-use” experience.
YonGPT – An Intelligent and Versatile “Expert” in Enterprise Services
On July 27th this year, Yonyou launched YonGPT 1.0, the enterprise service AI foundation model. This comes just three months after Fan Guanjun’s initial announcement at Yonyou’s 2023 Annual BIP Technology Conference on April 19th, where the training of the enterprise service AI foundation model was first revealed.
When introducing YonGPT to reporters, Fan Guanjun explained complex technical issues in simple terms. He said, “Just like the human brain instructs a person to fetch something, YonGPT instructs the various departments within a company on which enterprise services to adjust. It guides them on when to check external factors like the weather, when to access business travel services, or when to inquire about educational qualifications. The enterprise has the autonomy to manage and direct these adjustments.”
After 35 years of accumulation in ten major domains including finance, human resources, and supply chain, Yonyou has nurtured YonGPT through knowledge feeding, training, and fine-tuning. In the end, YonGPT has become an “expert” even more skilled than any expert within the Yonyou company.
“In reality, experts in finance find it challenging to understand human resources, and those knowledgeable in human resources may struggle to comprehend marketing, unless they keep switching roles. Now, we have the machine learn all the essential knowledge from these experts. This ‘expert’ can answer Yonyou’s questions across all ten major domains. This is YonGPT, a versatile, highly intelligent ‘expert’ in the enterprise service domain,” as described by Fan Guanjun.
